''I would highly recommend Rebecca's classes. They are truly in-depth sessions on different processes of creating pottery. Rebecca is a very intuitive as a pottery teacher and it is pure joy just to watch her step-by-step guidance in the classes.''
Based at my professional pottery studio in Whitstone on the Cornwall/Devon border, each student will work at their own high quality Shimpo wheel. All clay and materials are provided and each lesson lasts 3 hours.
During the 10-week course, we will cover all the steps of making a pot on a potter’s wheel, including clay preparation, throwing, turning and glazing. If you are a beginner we will focus on the fundamentals of throwing, for the more advanced we might learn about plates, jugs, mugs, handles and decoration. It very much depends on your level and what you want to learn. I try to make it relaxed, fun and informative!
Class sizes are small - there are only four places per class - so everyone is guaranteed a lot of individual attention as well as plenty of time to experiment and play. I work with each student to improve their individual skills and enjoy helping you make your best work in your own style.
At the end of the course you will glaze and fire your favourite pots. The course fee includes up to 8 glazed and fired pots. Additional items can be fired for a small fee.
Classes are non-refundable.
Please email me if you have any questions.

“The course with Rebecca was just perfect. She is a natural, gentle teacher, she made me feel at ease and I truly entered in a bubble of mindful time when in her studio. The whole learning process was made effortless and so pleasant. Her chai tea mid morning and the little chats in between were all in good measure and made the whole experience friendly and full of charm. Rebecca is a super talented artist, with an aesthetic eye that places her work on a different level. She is dedicated and easy to learn from. I have made the most wonderful pottery. Very personal and very wonky, but somehow the Rebecca effect was infused into everything and they all look so amazing. I really would do her courses on repeat if I could.”
“I've attended two of Rebecca's pottery courses and I've learnt so much. I have completed other courses before but I learnt the most from Rebecca. She is a great teacher and very patient. Her studio is also a lovely calm place to be”.
